Personal Information

- • Home or delivery address and profile information
- • Profile photo, saved recipients, and notification preferences
- • Driver or station bank and payout details
- • Driver licence, identity photo, vehicle, and station licensing documents where required
Order & transaction information
- • Fuel order details and delivery location
- • Payment history and transaction records
- • Order and support chat text, voice notes, images, and documents
- • Reports of abusive messages, blocked-user records, ratings, and support requests
Location information
- • Customer delivery addresses and precise coordinates used to price and fulfil orders
- • With a driver's permission, precise location while the driver is online, including when the app is closed or not in use, to find and dispatch nearby orders
- • During an active delivery, precise background location used to show delivery progress to the customer
- • Driver background collection stops when the driver goes offline or the delivery is completed
Device & usage information
- • IP address, device type, and browser/app information
- • App activity and login history
How We Use Your Information
Pumpnow uses your information exclusively to operate and improve the Platform. This includes:
- • Create and manage your Pumpnow account
- • Process fuel orders and payments
- • Connect you with riders and partner fuel stations
- • Verify users, riders, and partners
- • Provide customer support
- • Operate order chat, investigate reports, block abusive users, and enforce our safety rules
- • Send order updates, OTPs, and service notifications
- • Prevent fraud and unauthorized activity
- • Improve our platform and user experience
- • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements
Sharing of Information
We may share necessary information only with parties required to fulfill your order or operate our services:
- • Dispatch riders — for delivery purposes only
- • Partner fuel stations — for order fulfillment
- • Paystack — for payment processing, saved payment authorisations, station settlements, and driver payouts
- • Google Maps — for maps, geocoding, routes, and delivery-distance calculations
- • Firebase — for authentication and temporary real-time driver/delivery location
- • Cloudinary — for profile, verification, station, support, and chat media storage
- • Expo notification services — for device push notifications
- • Email and SMS providers — for OTPs, receipts, security notices, and service communications
- • Legal Enforcement — only when legally required by a valid court order
Payment Information
Payments are processed through certified third-party payment providers. Pumpnow does not store full card details — these are handled exclusively by an approved, PCI-compliant payment processor. Your financial data is never retained on our servers beyond what is required for transaction records.
Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. Our security practices include:

- • Password hashing, authenticated APIs, role-based access controls, and restricted real-time tracking paths

Your Rights
As a Pumpnow user, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

- • Correct — update inaccurate or incomplete information
- • Delete — delete your account in the app or start a request on our account-deletion page
- • Withdraw Consent — where processing relies on your consent, including background location through device settings
- • Opt out — stop non-essential communications through notification settings

Data Retention
Pumpnow retains user data only for as long as necessary for business, legal, tax, security, and regulatory purposes.
- • Account and profile data — retained while the account is active; sensitive profile, payout, device-token, and verification fields are removed or anonymised when deletion is completed
- • Transaction and delivery records — retained for up to seven years, or longer only where Nigerian tax, financial, safety, dispute, or court requirements apply
- • Live driver location — temporary real-time tracking entries are removed when the driver goes offline or the delivery ends; the order's delivery address and coordinates may remain with the transaction record
- • Order chat and support content — normally retained for up to 24 months after the order or support request closes, and longer only for an unresolved dispute, safety report, fraud investigation, or legal obligation
- • Safety reports — retained for up to five years to prevent repeated abuse and document enforcement decisions
When data is no longer required, it is securely deleted or anonymised.
Children's Privacy
Pumpnow is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. Users must be at least 18 years old to create an account or place orders. If we discover that a child has provided us with personal data, we will delete it immediately.
Updates to This Policy
Pumpnow may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Users will be notified of significant changes through the app, website, or email. Continued use of the Platform after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
